The SAT is a standardized test that is commonly utilized in the United States for college admissions. The SAT exam has no specific eligibility requirements, therefore anyone can take it. In most cases, students in the 10th or 11th grades take the SAT exam in order to use their scores in their undergraduate program’s study abroad application.

It takes three hours to complete the SAT. The scores range from 400 to 1600 and are based on the outcomes of two 200-to-800-point sections: Mathematics and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing.

• The SAT Reading Test has 52 questions and a time limit of 65 minutes. All of the questions are multiple-choice and based on reading passages. Some passages may have tables, graphs, and charts, but no Mathematics is necessary to correctly answer the questions.
• The SAT Writing and Language Test consists of one part with 44 multiple-choice questions and a 35-minute time limit. All questions, like the Reading Test, are based on reading passages that may include tables, graphs, and charts.
• The SAT’s Mathematics test is split into two parts: Math Test – No Calculator and Math Test – Calculator. The SAT math test lasts 80 minutes and consists of 58 questions: 45 multiple choice and 13 grid-in problems. The grid-in questions are free response. The multiple choice questions have four possible responses; the grid-in questions are free response and require the test taker to provide an answer.
